Balance: the ability to move or to remain in a position without losing control or falling.
Finding balance in my life has been one of the biggest challenges. When I was at my previous job, finding a balance between work and life was overwhelming. I felt that work consumed my life during the week and on the weekend I stayed in bed with anxiety about going to work the following Monday. I went to work, came home, and went straight to bed; I completely shut down. Not exactly the kind of life a 23 year old should be living.
“Life is a balance of holding on and letting go.”
I am holding on to the positives in my life and letting go of all the negatives. Quitting my job was honestly one of the best things I could have done for my mental health. Since quitting I have been going to therapy once a week and have been on anti-depressants. I took the steps I needed to in order to find my balance. I am learning how to live again. It hasn't been an easy process, but I have come so far from where I first began. Taking this time to balance out my life has done my soul good.
Part of finding your balance is falling; embrace the fall. Give yourself a break; everyone falls when they lose their balance. Take time to reflect and meditate on your life. A balanced life is essential for personal growth, peace of mind, and living well. When you realize that you can do anything but not everything, finding your balance becomes easier. Embrace the journey you're experiencing in life and remember you're not alone.
"Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving." - Albert Einstein
