I was never big on reading until being diagnosed with depression and anxiety; it was a way to escape my reality. Now, reading has become very therapeutic for me. Unfortunately, having a full time job again makes it difficult to find the time to pick up a book and relax. But I've learned to make time for the things that are most important for my healing process. With that said, one of my goals for 2017 is to read more and make it a part of my self-care Sunday routine! So I took a trip to my local Barnes & Noble to pick up these awesome books:
Moments of Mindfulness
Make It Happen
31 Days Of Prayer For the Dreamer + The Doer
The Gifts Of Imperfection
I couldn't wait to get my hands on my new books once I got home from a couple lovely hours at Barnes & Noble. Make It Happen is the book I decided to start reading first and I am in love so far! It's such an eye opener. I find myself relating to every word I read. It's amazing how books can influence and help you find purpose in life. The beauty of reading is that we can lose ourselves in books, but also find ourselves there too.
I love going to bookstores. It's such a calming experience, walking up and down the aisles looking for my next good read. Lately, I've been reading books that are inspiring and filled with positivity. I’ve found that “self-help” books have had a tremendous influence on my journey of self-discovery. I just finished reading You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life, last week and it's an amazing read! I truly felt as if the book was written just for me. I I definitely recommend it!
I can't wait to share my thoughts on my new books once I begin to read them all! If you decide to try out these books with me, please share your thoughts!
"Happiness is a book that changes your life."
